Primošten
'On the seventh day, God finished his work and wanted to rest. He chose Primosten as his resting place.'Primosten is certainly one of the most beautiful places on the Dalmatian coast, situated 28 km from Sibenik. Numerous restaurants, tourist attractions and wonderful little streets and stone houses, create a fairy-tale atmosphere of a true Medieval Mediterranean town. Climb up the hill in the old part of Primosten, and visit St Juraj's church, dating 15th century, from where you'll get an amazing view of Primosten and the islands.
The famous Primosten's vine 'Babic' enjoys a world wide reputation, and almost equally famous are the vineyards, known as 'Primosten's lace of stone'. You can catch a sight of it when driving along the Adriatic highway. There is a photo of one of the vineyards displayed in the UN headquarters building in New York, witnessing how much hard work and sweat it takes to make that stingy soil bread this supreme sort of vine. Primosten is also known for beautiful beaches. Little Raduca is listed in top 10 most beautiful beaches in Croatia. Smokvica island is very popular with naturists. One of the best clubs on the Adriatic, Aurora, is placed just 2 km from Primosten. You can get to Primosten by city bus lines from Sibenik, or by some of the intercity lines going to Trogir or Split.
